for the past few years i’ve been taking my health seriously (being diagnosed as diabetic will do that) i call it my wellness journey. I work out daily, watching what i eat and am actually enjoying it. A few weeks ago i decided to take it up a notch and sign up for the 5km marathon portion of the Charity Road race. Now i’d been hitting the treadmill hard but still wasn’t sure about how or if i’d be able to handle a full 5km marathon. So after committing myself to this event I thought…i can do this, i hope.
Yesterday was the first time that i tested myself by walk/running 5km non-stop. I’d hoped that i could complete it in under an hour (& survive mostly unscathed) I’m happy to say that it took me under 45 mins to walk/run 5k!
Now i know i can do this! While the training will continue i am looking forward to the race on Aug 21…bring it on !
