I find myself heading into this long weekend with a little trepidation.
My daughter is moving to Calgary : ( While i wish her all the best and continue to support her in all ways that i can , i will say it will be hard to see her drive away. She’s decided to follow her boyfriend and complete her practicum for her kinesiology degree in Alta. I can relate to all the parents who are seeing their little ones off to their first day of kindergarten or grade 1.
While a part of me wishes she didn’t have to, another part of me is proud to see her chasing her dream and seeking her place in the world. it’s just that it is a fair distance. When she (and her older brother as well) cleaned out their rooms, packed up the car and headed to university it was a little different because we could (and have) hop in the car on a Saturday morning and see them in less than a couple of hours. Now it’s a little more of a drive to get to Calgary.
She’s tried to soften the blow by informing us of her plans and updates all summer but now the time is here…i won’t lie, I’ll have a lump in my throat as she drives off – will
