You’re seeing the ads on TV, and hearing them on the radio. You’re getting the mailouts touting the candidates.
It’s official… Provincial election season is underway!
Last week, the campaign begun in Saskatchewan, and Manitoba politicians are expected to begin campaigning today.
Voters in Saskatchewan will go to the polls on Monday, April 4th, and it’s likely to be a two-horse race, between the governing Saskatchewan Party, and the New Democrats.
Darrin Lamoureux and the Liberals, who were shut out in 2011, will also be looking to feed off the Liberal victory in last year’s federal election, and make some inroads in Saskatchewan.
Meanwhile, our neighbours in Manitoba will cast their ballots on Tuesday, April 19th.
The big question there, is will the New Democrats, who have been in power for 16 years, be able to fend off the challenge of the hard-charging P.C.’s.
Regardless of who you support, I urge you to make sure you go out and exercise your right to vote! Make your voice heard!
And, if you’d like to volunteer your time (maybe make a little money), and assist in our democratic process, in either Saskatchewan or Manitoba, you can find more information at http://www.elections.sk.ca/workers/takepart/ or http://www.electionsmanitoba.ca/en/About/Employment_Elections
