Today we remember the life of the world’s oldest dog! Maggie the Kelpie from Australia passed away yesterday at the age of 30! Wow a dog that was older than me and I’m 29! The dog lived a great life and vets in Australia are still trying to figure out how she lived so long. A normal dog lives from 8 to 15 years old and usually 15 year old dogs are much smaller than a Kelpie! Brian McLaren the owner of Maggie said she was an amazing dog. She would wait till the kids came home from school and bark if they were late and would follow him everywhere he went on the farm.
Sadly this record isn’t official in the Guinness Book of World Records because Brian didn’t have any official documentation of when she was born. He knew that they picked her up on his Sons 4th birthday and now he’s 34! But she passed in her sleep which Brian was happy about because he couldn’t deal with the idea of having to put her down. R.I.P Maggie!
