I had a chance to get my Geek on with another Fan Expo in Regina and it was amazing as always. There’s a kindred spirit among those who flock to these events…we LOVE movies. Typically it’s of the sci-fi genre. You might be able to meet one of your fave stars or fave artist or get some one of a kind merchandise. I am mostly of the last option and my target is Star Wars merchandise…preferably vintage.
I went in this year with one mission in mind (ok maybe a couple lol) I wanted to complete my collection of vintage, original Star Wars comics. I had issues 1-20 with only #’s 3, 5 and 20 missing. After lookig thru countless bins of comics for the past5-6 years i am pleased to say that i did indeed find those missing issues and now on the complete series (1-20) : ) I’m also pleased that i didn’t have to pay an arm and a leg hahaha
Once that mission was completed, it was then just looking around and see what else was available. Most of the pieces i was interested in were being offered at “show” prices- $100’s of dollars more than i’m comfortable in paying but there was one piece that i bartered down to a price i was willing to pay.
Stopped by the 501st squadron who were raising money for a kids charity in Moose Jaw, so of course i had to get my pic taken with their costumed characters… it was a really nice day : )
