It’s your boy Nik coming through the power of the internet, and I’ve got some great news: We’re doing a morning show blog!
Reader and I have had many people come up to us at events telling us how much they love waking up with us, and we love that so much; but we totally get that you may or may not be awake to hear all of the goofs, gaffs, and laughs during your average Fox FM morning. We made the exectutive decision to post here, on our blog, a little recap of what happened on this morning’s show (along with some behind the scenes stuff, when the mics are off)
so, let’s do this.
105th Grey Cup
You’re gonna hear about this one until training camp in June, The Toronto Argonauts defeat the Calgary Stampeders 27-24 to win the Grey Cup in Ottawa. Here are the takeaways:
Always a Bridesmaid, never a Bride: This is the second time Calgary has choked in a championship game against a team that finished the season at .500 or under. I’d feel sorry for them, but…nah.
Big comeback: The Argos came back to win the game in the fourth quarter, strangely similar to the Riders a week before, except the Riders didn’t win. And it still stings.
Shania: Shania Twain had arguably the most Canadian entrance to her Half-time performance yet. Coming in on dogsled, being escorted to the stage by Mounties, I mean the only way it could be more Canadian would be if the crowd got to pelt Shania with Timbits while she performed, or if Shania wouldn’t stop apologizing for her lip-synching being slightly off at times..
Santa Claus Parade
Huge thanks to everyone who came out to the Santa Claus Parade in Yorkton this past Saturday, myself and Jackie got to roll around big dog style in the Fox FM RV, and even though it was like -1, my hand still almost froze from waving like the Queen the entire time. If you missed out on the Parade in Yorkton, you can still see myself and Reader and more of the Fox FM crew this Thursday in Canora for their winter lights festival and parade! I’m totally going to wear mitts this time.
One more thing
I gotta say big ups to a certain place in town, I wanted to treat myself to some ice cream after the parade on Saturday, and the person at the counter gave it to me for free! Not only did I save two bucks, I was crazy happy the whole drive home (belting out Katy Perry’s “Firework” carpool karaoke style) So to you I say this, go out right now and do a little bit of good, buy someone a coffee, donate a couple bucks in a Salvation Army drum, be that person today that makes someone smile, you would be surprised how powerful the little things can be, take it from me, I haven’t been little since I was a baby.
Alright, pontification is complete, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Reader couldn’t say “Melville Millionaires” on the morning news, again. I’ll post the audio if enough of you want to hear! 😉
