I’ve gotta say, once I got home from the office yesterday, whipped up a quick lunch, and my stomach finally settled down! I know I’m like a broken record right now but seriously, don’t ever chug eggnog on an empty stomach, it was a tough day at the office afterward… (Honestly, I know you guys would never do something foolish like that, leave the tomfoolery to the professionals!)
I suppose today’s theme might as well be hubris, that would be the collective hubris of Nik and Reader. Yesterday we made a bit of a point to rip on what I guess we could call “lo-fi” Christmas decoration of the Fox FM studio, well, Chris and Jackie took a little bit of umbridge to that, and decided to take action:
There you have it. Our studio and for all intents and purposes my office decorated in a way that I can only describe as “every single extra piece of Christmas décor left over from decorating the office taped and stapled in our studio” chic. It really isn’t that bad, missing some mistletoe though, which is understandable. I also hope every Fox FM announcer is cool with our studio looking like this well into January, I was raised Orthodox so we have to keep it up until at least the 7th 😉
Finally, it was my turn to spend a little bit of time today talking about my favourite Christmas song (and movie) you may have noticed that Reader and I are going to take a small bit out of each show to further get you in that holiday spirit, and today I got to talk about Love Actually:
now if you read this blog, you know that movie is my absolute favourite this time of the year, and I’m not alone. However, Megan called me out this morning so I suppose it is time for a clarification. This morning I said that Love Actually technically isn’t a Christmas Movie, and I stand by that. It takes place two weeks before Christmas, but the story itself isn’t about Christmas, its about a bunch of different couples falling in and out of love. So technically not a Christmas Movie, but my favourite movie to watch during the Christmas season. Semantics, I know.
