Apologies for last Friday’s lack of round-up, but I promise you it was missed for a reason. As I’m typing this right now, I’m listening to Fox FM streaming off of my brand new phone, a phone that doesn’t have the one thing I need in a phone: A headphone jack.
That’s right, for the longest time I was the person who was constantly making fun of phone manufacturers for removing something that seems so important, and now I’m not only drinking the kool-aid, I’m taking a knee and shotgunning it. and I’m not too stoked.
So Reader and I decided to drive to Regina Friday afternoon to catch Star Wars, and I’m still the kind of guy that turns his phone off during movies at the cinema. When I went to turn it back on afterward, it wouldn’t turn on. bummer. especially since the warranty just expired.
So after all of that, I’m listening to Fox FM through a dongle connected to my phone. A dongle that I’ll most likely lose unless I keep it connected to my headphones at all times. maybe it isn’t a big deal, maybe I’m just old fashioned, but I can’t see how this is any better than the old way.
Maybe Santa will put wireless headphones in my stocking this year.
(PS, I’ve decided to make asparagus for the work potluck, not that gross hotdog thing.)
