Roughriders sign 4 Americans

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American defensive linemen Brayden Thomas and Caleb Sanders, American wide receiver John Ursua, and American defensive back Tedric Thompson.

Thomas signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent following the 2022 NFL Draft. He spent majority of the season on the Rams practice squad, being elevated to the active roster for one game in December.

Sanders attended rookie camp with the New York Giants following the 2023 NFL Draft and then spent 2023 training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles and saw action in one preseason game, logging three tackles.

Ursua was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the 7th round, 236th overall, of the 2019 NFL Draft and spent three seasons  with the team, seeing time on both the active and practice roster.

Thompson was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth round, 111th overall, of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He spent three seasons  with the team, playing in 29 games (16 starts) and recording 80 tackles, three interceptions, five pass knockdowns, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
