Farrow’s 41 saves backstops Terriers to a road win over Estevan on Friday

The Yorkton Terriers earned their 15th win of the season on Friday night after a 4-2 triumph over the Estevan Bruins at Affinity Place.

The 2nd meeting of the season got off to a fast start as just 1:08 into the 1st, Felix Allard finished off a nice pass from Keagon Little and sniped home his 15th of the season to make it 1-0 Estevan early.

But just 27 seconds later, Aidan Knutson gobbled up a rebound in front and tucked home his 12th to make it 1-1 and that’s where we sat through 1 period.

In the 2nd, the Terriers grabbed their first lead just 1:20 into the middle frame as after a scramble in front, Anthony McIntosh was in the right place at the right time for his 8th to make it 2-1.

Brett Butz made it a two-goal lead with 8:46 left in the 2nd with 7th of the year before a late powerplay goal from Zachery Burns to cut the Bruins deficit within one after 40 minutes.

The Terriers added some insurance in the third as newcomer Dustin Renas sniped his 1st SJHL goal to wrap up the scoring.

Terriers netminder Ethan Farrow made 41 saves on 43 shots to earn his 11th victory of the season while Cam Hrdlicka turned aside 27 shots in the loss.

These two teams will meet once again on Saturday at the Westland Arena in Yorkton. 

Elsewhere,

Boris Kofman and Matthew Van Blaircom each had 1G 1A as the Humboldt Broncos snapped Melville’s 2 game win streak with a 5-2 win over the Millionaires on the road.

Ryder Knutson, Connor Thue and Spencer Bell also scored for the Broncos, while Bradley Banach  and Flynn Maxcy replied for the Moneymen.

Benjamin Motew made 19/21 saves to earn the win for Humboldt, while Mils’ G Ethan Rau allowed 5 goals on 32 shots in the loss.

The Broncos and Moneymen will meet once again on Saturday night from Humboldt.
