Yorkton City Council & City Manager Part Ways

Yorkton City Council have announced they’ve voted to part ways with City Manager Lonnie Kaal. 

The decision was made during a special meeting of council held last night (Thurs), and the press release states that council felt that a change in leadership at this level is required at this time and is confident that Council can be united in the selection of the next City Manager for the future of Yorkton.

Mayor Mitch Hippsley also states they thank Kaal for heir guidance, vision and commitment to the City of Yorkton and wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.

The city’s Director of Planning, Building & Development  Michael Eger was appointed as interim City Manager until the position is permanently filled. 

Kaal was a member of the Finance Department and City Manager position collectively for 30 years.
