Let’s go, Terriers!!!

Hey, everybody! Reader here, and I just wanted to recap a great evening at the rink, as Eddie Q, writer Warren and I headed to Westland Arena on Saturday night, to catch the Yorkton Terriers in action against the visiting Estevan Bruins.

As most of you know by now, the Terriers announced last weekend that they are dealing with some serious financial difficulties, and we wanted to make sure we got out to show some love and support for the home side.

Here’s a brief recap of our night out! (Props to our ace video editor, Eddie Q!)

It was great to see lots of folks making their way into the arena, to cheer on the Orange and Black!

Terrier fans focused on the battle on the ice.
If you want a great view of the action, you’ve got to have a ticket!

Once the action got going, it was an exciting matchup. The Terriers beat the Bruins 4-2 in Estevan on Friday night, and were looking to sweep the weekend home-and-home.

The good guys get on the board!

And, of course, what would a hockey game be, without a little bit of rough stuff?

Two games in two nights usually means tempers flare, and Saturday’s game was no exception.

The Terriers ran into some penalty trouble in the second period, and after narrowing the gap, cutting the deficit to 4-3, they ended up falling 7-4, to the Bruins.

One positive for Yorkton, was the offensive output by the newest Terriers, Dustin Renas. After scoring a goal in his first game with the club on Friday night, he added a hat trick on Saturday. Four goals in two games…not a bad start!

Meanwhile, even though there was lots of exciting action on the ice, it was just as much fun to see everybody turn out to cheer on the boys.

Reader ran into Yorkton Mayor Mitch Hippsley in the lobby!

The great thing about going to the game is that it brings people together. The rink is a great meeting place to catch up with old friends that you haven’t seen in a while, or even make some new pals.

Eddie and I even got to meet Greg, a loyal Fox FM listener, who was out from Regina and wanted to show his support for the Terriers!

Eddie, Reader, and their new pal (and loyal Fox FM listener) Greg! It was great to meet you!

The good ol’ hockey game is something that brings communities together, and it’s great to see everyone come out to show their support.

But the Terriers need us to show up more than ever. With the club in deep financial trouble, if we can help in any way, let’s do it.

One big way to do so, is by purchasing your season tickets for the 2024-25 season – and until March 1st, you can score an amazing deal, and lock up your seats for the upcoming season!

And to make it an even better deal, if you get your season tickets now, you’ll be entered in to win something special!

Help support the Terriers, and you could win yourself a vacation, to boot! How sweet is that?

As well, each home game, make sure you get in on the 50/50. If you can’t get to the rink, you can still get in on the draw!

Get your season tickets, buy your 50/50 tickets, or swing by the Terriers’ Store at the Gallagher Centre, and pick up some merch – a bunnyhug, a hat, maybe even a jersey.

We were joined this morning by Terriers’ Director of Marketing and Public Relations (and our old pal) Calvin Tokarchuk, who gave us an update on how the season ticket blitz is going.

It’s all about making sure the Terriers survive and thrive, and keep creating memorable moments on the ice and in the community.

The next home game is coming up this Saturday, February 10th, at 7 p.m., when the Weyburn Red Wings pay a visit to Westland Arena – make sure you grab your tickets!

Let’s pack the barn, cheer on the Terriers, and run the Red Wings outta town!

GO TERRIERS GO!!!
