McEwen captures 2024 Sasktel Tankard in Saskatoon

Mike McEwen’s rink claimed the 2024 Tankard in Saskatoon with a 7-3 victory over Rylan Kleiter’s squad on Sunday in Saskatoon.

McEwen jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first three ends and would go on to victory.

The team based out of the Nutana Curling club not only picked up the provincial win in their home rink, but they will now represent their home province in the Brier in Regina next month (March 1-10).

Sunday’s win capped off a perfect week at the Tankard, with the team posting a 5-0 record during the round-robin. They picked up a win against Kody Hartung’s rink on Saturday to advance to the finals.

Making up Team McEwen, is Mike McEwan at Skip, Colton Flasch at third, Kevin Marsh at second, and Daniel Marsh as lead.

2024 will mark McEwen’s 9th appearance at the Brier, his first with Saskatchewan after making six with Manitoba and two with Ontario.
