The first City of Melville Youth Council was officially introduced during last nights (Mon) regular council meeting.

Marion Ajiboye will serve as Youth Mayor, Olivia Mikolas as Deputy Mayor, Abby Schicker as Clerk while Delaney Alspach & Dayton Sheffield will serve as councillors.

The youth council will act in an advisory role to Melville City council, and make recommendations to council on issues like recreation & youth, Economic development and technology.

It will run through July, holding meetings the first & third Mondays of each month, while the Youth Mayor or deputy Mayor will attend all regular council meetings to provide comments, questions and updates on behalf of the youth council.
