Reader and his Air Fryer(s) – A Match Made in Heaven!

Have you jumped on the air fryer bandwagon yet? I totally have, and and it’s been awesome!

The other night, I fired mine up to make a little supper, and I though I’d put it to our listeners, and see what kind of things you like to whip up in your air fryers.

The answers were all over the place!

Many of you said chicken wings (which rule in the air fryer), but other suggestions included pork tenderloin, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, grilled cheese sandwiches, perogies, hot dogs, pork ribs, crispy parmesan green beans (which sound awesome!), hash brown patties, home fries, pepperoni chips and even bacon!

I haven’t gotten too crazy adventurous with mine.

I’ve done a lot of frozen fries, onion rings and potato wedges, as well as frozen chicken balls and egg rolls.

I’ve used the air fryer to do up some sausage to go with perogies, and it turned out great.

I have done a striploin steak, that turned out to be one of the best steaks I’ve ever made!

My mouth is watering just looking back at this photo!
I like my steak medium (don’t judge me – You do you, I’ll do me!) . I probably could’ve taken it out of the air fryer a couple of minutes sooner, but it was still fantastic!

By the way, I found my Actifry is great for doing chicken wings, as the agitator arm keeps moving and turning the wings as they cook, so you don’t have to go in and flip them all!

I definitely want to try a pork tenderloin in the air fryer, and maybe even a whole chicken.

And grilled cheese in the air fryer sounds intriguing!

Air fryers have really blown up huge over the last few years, and there are a few obvious reasons why!

I love air fryers so much I have two! The first one I got was the Actifry on the right, followed by the big silver bad boy on the left!

I guess firstly, air fryers offer a healthier alternative to traditional deep frying. Using hot air to cook your food, means you can get that same crispy, golden exterior without all the added oil and grease, which doesn’t leave you feeling all greasy and bloated. Eat your favourite fired stuff guilt-free!

Air fryers are also super-versatile. You can make just about anything in them, from crispy french fries and chicken wings to veggies, meats, and even desserts. You’re only limited by your imagination, and with a little creativity, you can whip up delicious meals in no time.

Another great thing about air fryers is that they are quick and convenient. No need to wait for the oil to heat up or deal with the messy cleanup afterwards. With an air fryer, you can simply season your food, pop it in the basket, set the timer, and let the air fryer work its magic. Set it and forget it. Not to mention that most air fryers are compact and easy to store, which makes them handy in small kitchens.

Air fryers are also energy-efficient. They use less electricity than traditional ovens, making them a more sustainable option for cooking. And let’s not forget about the crispy, delicious results you get with an air fryer. The hot air circulates around the food, creating that perfect crunch that we all love.

So, if you’re looking to eat healthier, save time in the kitchen, and enjoy delicious, crispy food without the guilt, then it’s time to invest in an air fryer. Once you start using one, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it – it’s been a great addition to my kitchen arsenal!
