Tate Schofer shined brightly with a hat-trick as the Yorkton Terriers dominated the MJHL’s Waywayseecappo Wolverines, achieving a stunning 10-2 victory in the inaugural Junior game at the new arena on the Cote First Nation.
Thierry Laliberte added two goals, while Jye Zawatsky, Ty Penrod, Jeff Hammond, Thomas Ries, and Jaron Desnoyers also found the back of the net, maintaining Yorkton’s unblemished pre-season record. Cole Hunter and Jacon McKague netted the only goals for the Wolverines.
In goal, Ethan Farrow started strong for the Terriers, stopping all 10 shots he faced. Kieren Madill took over and conceded two goals on 13 shots.
Next up, the Terriers clash with their Highway 10 rivals, the Melville Millionaires, in a home-and-home series to conclude their preseason.
The series kicks off Friday night at the CN Community Centre in Melville, with puck drop at 7:00 PM.
