Hey everybody – Reader here!
Throughout the day yesterday, it was grey and rainy across much of the province, including in the Yorkton and Melville area. And along with that, came some pretty good thunderstorm activity.
I love a good thunderstorm, with big, booming cracks of thunder rumbling through the sky, and a spectacular light show. Growing up on the farm, there were (and still are) huge, wide-open spaces, to watch the display, which to me, is one of the coolest natural phenomena, along with the Northern Lights.
If it’s not pouring rain, there’s nothing better that grabbing a beverage and a chair, and sitting out on the deck, and watching Mother Nature at work. I find big storms quite relaxing.
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve found something incredibly soothing about the gentle rumble of a thunderstorm while I drift off to sleep. The sound of rain tapping against the window, mingling with distant thunder, feels like nature’s own lullaby, guiding me into peaceful dreams. For me, there’s a cozy comfort in these stormy nights, as if the world is wrapping me in a blanket of tranquility. It’s almost like a reminder to slow down and savor the moment.
In fact, quite often, when I want to relax and have a snooze after work, I’ll turn on the TV, fire up YouTube, and find a good video with several hours of thunder and rain sounds, before pulling a blanket over me and drifting off to dreamland.
Kind of like this one!
How about you? Do thunderstorms bring a sense of calm and relaxation to your nights, or do they keep you wide awake?
I slept sound as a pound through last night’s storm. How ’bout you?
I’d love to hear your thoughts!
