Swan Valley Stampeders playoff hopes take big hit in home loss to the Blizzard

Marlen Edwards’ goal just 30 seconds into the third stood up to be the game winner as the Northern Manitoba Blizzard doubled up the Swan Valley Stampeders 4-2 on Tuesday night.

Cael Primanti and Migel Bouvier gave the Blizzard a 2-0 lead in the first, while Will Brown replied with both goals for the Stampeders, who now sit eight points back of the final playoff spot with six games to go.

Blizzard netminder Taye Timmerman on his 18th birthday stopped 14 of 16 shots in the win, while Rowan White in the Stamps’ crease was impressive stopped 34 shots.

The Stampeders continue their home-stand this weekend with a pair of home games starting Friday night against the Selkirk Steelers before taking on the Winnipeg Blues on Saturday
